Dr. Paul Robinson Addresses the 80th Anniversary of Hiroshima/Nagasaki Professor of History Bridgewater State University It was 80 years ago , World War II, August 1945 the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, and three days later on Nagasaki. Six days later Japan surrendered. The destruction was on a scale the world had never seen. The Japanese constitution, drafted during the U.S. occupation, renounces war as a means of settling disputes. Dr. Paul Rubinson Japan hasn’t revised that pacifist charter. But the space around it has changed. Topics that were politically untouchable a decade ago are now freely debated. We hope you will be present at the Fort Taber~Fort Rodman Military Museum and Veterans Memorial and support our history speaker lecture series. Free to the public, convenient parking, bring a friend, tour the Museum after the lecture
